Overview
"Don't Pick on Me" is first known to have been demoed by Weezer at Sage & Sound Studios in Los Angeles, in the early recording process for the band's planned fourth album, what would eventually be Maladroit. These were the first recording sessions to feature bassist Scott Shriner. Four demos from the proper Maladroit sessions at Cello Studios were among dozens of demos released for free on weezer.com during the album's recording process. The song was ultimately abandoned.
Reception
Fans have had mixed reactions to "Don't Pick on Me." It was ranked as one of Weezer's better songs by the Weezer songblog Teenage Victory Songs, which placed it under "The Grand Playlist."
