Outloud Tour Day 20: University Of Missouri Hearnes Center, Columbia, MO
...today we woke to find the weather a bit improved, leading me and lighting guy Dan into a brief mad skateboard dash around campus before the show. It was nice to not freeze again. I discovered that without a car, students would have to walk what seems like miles to get around these parts. But I guess everyone has access to cars, because 5000 people had no trouble filling up the Hearnes center tonight!
...soundcheck was interesting, as the back of the room was curtained off for a gymnastics team practice. It must have been odd doing floor exercises to weezer. I tried working on my sprints on the handy olympic sized running track, and Ozma and the Get Up Kids worked on their softball game.
...the show was another hot one, but was challenged by another bad barricade situation, requiring some makeshift braces to be installed between sets. The pushing force of several thousand fans is amazing to behold, and thanks to everyone for their pre-show patience.
...hey, in Houston, Pat, Mikey and I were interviewed by emopop.com , who have just published the transcripts on their site. Pat and Mikey's interviews were fairly short impromptu things, and in mine i blabbed on for a good long while. Go check them out, the emopop guys asked some good questions.
