2009/08/23 Bleezer Tour: Toronto - Molson Ampitheatre

*** NEW SINGLE "I Want You To" on iTunes now! Click here! ***

...Well, here we are, on tour with the Blink-182! First show - Toronto. Opening are Chester French and Taking Back Sunday. Earlier Weezer did some interviews with Much Music, Mtv and Explore Music with Alan Cross (link to interview here). And even earlier than that, Pat and Josh Freese went down to the 102.1 The Edge studios to do some on air improv with DJ Darrin Pfieffer (also known for his drumming with Goldfinger, and an old LA roomate from the early days of weezer). CFNY has been cramming in plenty of Blink and Weezer all weekend, and it was nice to see Darrin again.

Back to the Molson Ampitheatre, which has seen its share of Weezer shows over the years. Tonight the place was packed to the rafters with Blink and Weezer fans, and there was a merciful total lack of rain after dire warnings and predictions of a monsoon. Today was all about doing quick work to intergrate into an already well oiled Blink touring machine which has been out for several weeks already. Not much time to adjust, as the schedule is packed with 4 bands, all of whom have crews and equipment to coordinate. But all things considered, the show was pretty great for a 1st night on the tour. Observant fans got to see a pretty funny introductory video starring Pat, taking us on a tour of Toronto. And you'd have to have been blind to miss the vivid new stage uniforms the band was sporting! Weezer is doing a high energy hourlong set, chock full of classics and newer tracks including the new single "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to". Then it becomes Blink's stage, and its good to see them back on the scene again, rocking out the Blink way!

Tomorrow we travel to the big apple to dress the wounds, sip the potions of healing and assess the battle plan for the following days assault on Jones Beach!

...Reminder: Weezer's new single, the first from their upcoming 7th album "Raditude" is called "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to". And the super simple radio request phrase once again is: "(If you're wondering if i want you to play "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to", yes, I want you to play "(If you're wondering if i want you to) I want you to". What could be easier?
