...MB '05 Tour: Day 125: Foozer/Wee Fighters #21: Long Beach Arena - Long Beach, CA
Huge rock scene inside what you may have thought was an aquarium...but is far from one!
Tonight was the reuniting of the Foozer machine, with the full Hot Hot Heat / Weezer / Foo Fighters lineup in place for the first time since the 15th of October. Turns out the Foos had quite a different experience than weezer in the week interim. While weezer was doing Stern, the Perfect Situation video, Leno and the headline show in Santa Barbara, the Foos were supposed to go to Cancun Mexico for a huge show. But Hurricane Wilma derailed that plan at the last minute, so they ended up having a mini vacation. In the words of Napoleon Dynamite, 'Luckyy!'. But that still is lame to have to cancel a show, no band enjoys doing that. Curse you Wilma!

Well anyway, the Foozer rock was back on, inside the immense Long Beach Arena, which oddly has been painted on its round exterior to resemble an underwater ocean scene for years. Meanwhile the aquarium down the road doesnt resemble the ocean at all. Go figure. Much more important thant the exterior of course, was the interior, where the show went down. Tonights show was a complete sell out, with close to 13,000 people packing in. The floor area of the arena is pretty much the largest floor in the country, so it fits a vast quantity of people, making for really crazy shows. In fact they use the rarely seen outside of festivals "T" shaped barricade here, to keep the front of the crowd from being so wide that potential 'shoving' incidents dont escalade into crowds of people falling over.

So it was on. Foozer in the greater LA area at last. Devastating! And tomorrow, it all happens again, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.

Tonight's 'Undone' acoustic assistant was Mike, who definitely knew what he was doing up there. Thank you Mike! And big props to Justin F. and Jason R., in the house of rock. Also Chris n' Dil!
