Kiss (also typeset as KISS) is a rock band formed in the early 1970s. The band's stock in trade is a minimalist riff-based heavy rock with rock/party-themed lyrics and anthemic choruses. But they are perhaps best known for the iconic make-up worn during the more commercially successful years of their activity.

Influence on Weezer

Rivers Cuomo was a big fan of Kiss growing up, and their music is at least partially responsible for his early interest in becoming a musician himself. In fact, some may argue that had it not been for Kiss, there would never have been a Weezer.

Rivers mentions the band, as well as members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, in the song "In the Garage," and quotes Kiss lyrics in the song "Devotion."
