On May 21, 2020, Cropper performed the song in full during a "Golden Hour" stream for his Facebook and Instagram followers. Cropper stated that he wrote it about his friend Gray.
Cropper conducted a livestream over Instagram with Rob Ahlers on November 5, 2021 where Ahlers recorded synth keyboard alongside the studio version of the song.
