Overview

Cropper has said that "She'd Be Good for Me" was written about his grief following his divorce.[citation needed]

"She'd Be Good for Me" was first released on the compilation Guitar Center: Fresh Cuts Vol. 4 in 2009. According to the CD liner notes, Cropper was, at the time, employed under the title of "GC Pro Account Manager" at Guitar Center West LA. The Weezer demo "Everybody Go Away" was also featured on the compilation. "She'd Be Good for Me" was released on streaming platforms for the first time as part of the album Songs from 2008 in 2022.

Lyrics

I need to believe
That something pure will come for
All of our dreams
That you and I would not allow
I want to believe
That your late-night confessions
Helped you to grieve
They helped you find redemption

Would you find me?
Run, run away before today's tomorrow

Run, as fast as you can
To find your pure heart beating fierce and true
Did you know this jerk still loves you?
Run, she'll be the one that you were
Or rather the woman that you were meant to be
I wish I knew her; she'd be good for me
She'd be good for me

I need to let go
Of this glamorous tragedy
You can be who you want to be
I will not stand in your road
I want to be free
But I'm just too curious
And my heart is furious
From living in this dying love and servitude
How about you?

Run, as fast as you can
To find your pure heart beating fierce and free
Did you forget you still believe?
Run, she'll be the one that you were
Or rather the woman you were meant to be
I wish I knew her; she'd be good for me

Well, I'm wondering why
And what it is you think you'll find
You're still running away
When the truth is you were mine
For the blink of an eye
For the blink of an eye

Run, run away before today's tomorrow

Run, as fast as you can
To find your pure heart beating fierce and free
Did you forget you still believe?
Run, she'll be the one that you were
Or rather the woman you were meant to be
I wish I knew her; she'd be good for me
She'd be good for me
