Appearances

Overview

"Somebody Save Me" was recorded sometime between the spring and winter of 1999.[1] The song was among hundreds of Cuomo's demos leaked online in November of 2020, and was released formally a few weeks later as part of the digital compilation Alone VI: The Black Room in 2020.

The song's lyrics and chord progression bear resemblence to the similarly-named song "Save Me", written in 2004, but is unknown if this is a coincidence.

Lyrics

Somebody save me
Somebody kill
All of the demons
Up on the hill
I know you could do it
If you'd only try
Somebody save me
I'm going to die

Somebody break down
Cut loose the cords
That hold me so tightly
To these burning boards
Counting my blessings
Saying goodbye
Somebody save me
I'm going to die

Somebody call out
And break up this spell
Driving me under
The surface of hell
I know you could do it
If you'd only try
Somebody save me
I'm going to die

I know you could do it
If you'd only try
Somebody save me
I'm going to die
