Tegan and Sara is a Canadian indie rock duo formed by twin sisters Tegan and Sara Quin.

Connections to Weezer

The band has cited Weezer as a influence[1] and appeared live with them twice in 2005. They have collaborated with Matt Sharp multiple times beginning in the early 2000's. Sharp and Maya Rudolph released a cover of the band's song "Not Tonight" in August 2004. He has also covered their song "When I Get Up" live as well. Sharp joined Tegan and Sara on stage at three shows in Oct. 2008 to cover "Tired of Sex."

Sharp played on three releases by the band: 2004's So Jealous and 2007's The Con and I'll Take the Blame EP. The band explained the origin of their initial collaboration in an interview in January 2005[2]:

...there's the keyboard line [on the song "I Know I Know I Know"], which is just my favorite thing in the whole world, and that was Matt Sharp's contribution. We had become friends with him after he covered a song off of If It Was You, and we were just so excited to be friends with him and have him come down play with us because we're just huge fans of Weezer and The Rentals and his solo stuff is amazing.
