Totally Crushed Out! is the second album by That Dog.

Overview

Totally Crushed Out is a loose concept album based on teenage crushes. The cover art mimics that of a pulp teen romance novel, and the lyrics are printed as though chapters in such a book.

Recording

The disc was recorded in three different sessions:

• Tracks 5, 9, 10, 12, & 13 were recorded by Tom Grimley and That Dog at Poop Alley in Los Angeles in May and December of 1994.
• Tracks 2, 3, 6-8, & 11 by Paul duGre at Toad Hall, Pasadena, CA and Westbeach Recorders, Hollywood, CA October-November 1994, and mixed by Paul Du Gre and That Dog at Mama Joe's North Hollywood, CA January 1995.
• Tracks 1 & 4 recorded by Rob Cavallo at Soundcastle, Silverlake, CA and mixed by Jerry Finn, Rob Cavallo, and That Dog at Conway Studios, January 1995.

Promotion

The album was promoted to some degree by DGC, issuing a single in "He's Kissing Christian", and putting the band on tour in the summer of '95 with labelmates Teenage Fanclub and Weezer.
