The day that I first saw you
I knew I had to have you
You were as cute as could be
I needed a family around me
Over the course of a year
I slowly lost my interest
Now you're a pain in the ass
And I have got leave you
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
[...]the love around us
And so I made a promise
I tried my best to keep it
But then I tire of it
Tired of seeing your face
Cleaning up after your mess
Buying the food that you eat
And I have got to leave you
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Come over again, come over again
Come over until I've had enough of you, my friend
Tired of seeing your face
Cleaning up after your mess
Buying the food that you eat
And I have got to leave you
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round

Overview
"Turn Me Round" is first known to have been performed at soundchecks in August of 2002. The song was thereafter demoed multiple times throughout 2002 during demo sessions at S.I.R. Studios in 2002. Drummer Josh Freese filled in for Pat Wilson during some of these sessions. The song was performed live only once, at a concert in London on August 26, 2002, but no bootleg is known to exist. The song was thereafter seen as desirable by fans over the next several years. The song continued to be demoed in fall of 2003, once Weezer began working with Rick Rubin on the band's eventual fifth album, Make Believe. The song was worked on at Cello Studios until December of that year, but was left ultimately unfinished. The song would remain unheard by fans for several years.
In 2009, a recording of the song appeared as track 11 on international releases of Weezer's seventh album, Raditude. It is unknown if this version is a solo Rivers Cuomo demo or if other band members were present. In 2020, several demo recordings of the song were made available as part of the digital compilations Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years and Alone IX: The Make Believe Years.

Lyrics
The day that I first saw you
I knew that I had to have you
You were as cute as could be
I needed a family around me
Over the course of the year
I slowly lost my interest
Now you're a pain in the ass
I'm going to break your backbone now
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
A noble man has instincts
To treat his serfs like objects
They work and entertain him
Until he's tiring of them
Tired of seeing your face
Cleaning up after your mess
Buying the food that you eat
I'm going to put you to sleep
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Now, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Whoa, whoa
Round, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
Round, turn me 'round
Turn me 'round, turn me 'round
