TEH AIMZ aren't working, so I'm using ur tlk pg. Song boxes are basically done. Lemme know what you think of how they look so far. This one's for a single so it has basically all the fields. (For comparison's sake, here's a track that wasn't released as a single.) I'm not sure about the order of things, so let me know what you think. I can't figure out how to make the track list like an actual list, so it might have to look like it does now - I dunno. good news. turns out the problem wasn't as big as i thought it was. just an error on the musician infobox in the markup for current/former members. fixed it in about 5 minutes. everything is golden. also, i'm not really adding info, just going through each page and making sure all the sidebar stuff and formatting is proper, as well adding all the song pages that aren't there for album tracks (i won't move onto rarities just yet)

Are they the revised ones? I probably should have mentioned that right now we're not going to include the revised COR numbers. Sorry. I'm really impressed with how much you've done in just a day though. It's awesome.

ya that's where i've been getting them but i didn't notice the rc column. is there anything for 2003 and up?

you can get a few of them in the Rec history for the majority of the album 5 demos and fallen soldiers, but we can't accurately name the red songs. Although, we might add an info column for that list of 4 and 5 starred demo

ok, i'm still working on revising all the main songs and making sure they're good to go, doubt that'll be done today but it should be within the next couple. I added you on AIM...are you planning on making me an admin?

I'm sure there will be some kind of title, but in terms of an admin (sysop), we've already got three with an anonymous fourth editor so we don't need any sysops. Although we could use bots, which is the equivalent of a mod, which would give you policing privileged and access to some locked pages. I'll have to discuss it with the others since I don't have any sort of final say, but I'd say you'll be on the bot team.

I'm almost done creating all the pages with full sidebars, you guys can start throwing info in the ones I've done (Blue-Make Believe plus everything in between) and I'll finish the rest of the tedious work. Sections left to create: Alone, Red + b-sides and bonus tracks, Alone II, SS2K, A5 Demos. Then I will start helping with info as well

Dates

I've been messing around with the dates a lot lately, and i noticed that you can't easily navigate between years. Wikipedia has a type of chart for this (see the top right corner). i think it'd be cool if we stuck something like that on all the date pages.

hey. I think our joke articles are awesome, and I contribute heavily to all the bullshit that piles up there, but I think we need to separate them somehow. i think a little template thing at the top of the page, similar to the {{expand}} thing would work well. but instead it would be {{Joke_article}} and it could say "This page was created as a joke, and not for informative purposes. It is meant to be entertaining, not accurate." or something like that. Just to make us seem more professional. I was trying before to make it seem a little more professional by editing all the pages, but that was taking away a lot of what made the pages so funny. i saw you put Softies as the first single for Album Seven. is there any real evidence for that? This kinda makes WP look like some dumb Weezer fansite if speculation is put up there as fact, imo. Maybe a little thing explaining the speculation and not confirming it as fact would be better.

Templates and my various ideas for improvement of the site

It would be nice if we could have have more templates of various uses. For example, I feel a year template would help link all the years pages together nicely (see wikipedia for example). Another idea for a template would be similar to the one used on wikipedia for weezer. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Weezer). I feel overall, we need to put a hugh emphasis on categories. I am proposing making a template (similar to our current expand template) that would point out that the article is uncategorized. Overall, I would like to be able to just have our template be the same as wikipedia's that way we can copy and paste various elements from wikipedia. I feel our articles would be improved if we could add citations into the pages. My main goal here is to improve the Event pages. I hope my advice has been useful. I've changed the 'On this day...' section on the Main Page so it's a little easier to manage. Before we were using the system that I set up with Selected Anniversaries which meant we had a date page, like April 15, and we also had to have a page called Weezerpedia:Selected_anniversaries/April_15. This meant two pages for each date had to be maintained. Anyway, we no longer need Selected Anniversaries, what is on the date page itself will show up under the 'On this day' section. If you want you can mass delete all the pages that start with "Weezerpedia:Selected_anniversaries/" because they are no longer necessary.

Also you might read the top part of this page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Transclusion to see how different types of Transclusions work aside from regular Templates and Namespaces. When you include a template in a page you use {{Template:TemplateName}} or simply {{TemplateName}}, you know that. What I had overlooked, and why we used the Selected Anniversaries, was how to include a normal page, without a specific namespace, inside another page. That can be done with something like this {{:Pinkerton}} or {{:Geffen}}. Just use the colon in front of the page you want to Transclude within the brackets.

The only other thing to note is that because date pages have categories for their months, Ex. April 15 has the category Category:April. This will be transcluded into the On This Day section and puts the Main Page in the April category for the time being. So we might think about using <noinclude></noinclude> tags around the categories on date pages, but I'll think more about that.

I'm going to post this to Martin's page to so he knows how the 'On this day' section has changed.

installing extensions

hey. I'm tinkering around with possibly making the entire Gallery page one big image map, and I'm having some trouble. Do we have an imagemap extension installed? What the hell is an extension? Do you know what I'm talking about at all? I'm sending this to all the mods to see what's going on.
