teh enfobockzez!!~~

TEH AIMZ aren't working, so I'm using ur tlk pg. Song boxes are basically done. Lemme know what you think of how they look so far. This one's for a single so it has basically all the fields. (For comparison's sake, here's a track that wasn't released as a single.) I'm not sure about the order of things, so let me know what you think. I can't figure out how to make the track list like an actual list, so it might have to look like it does now - I dunno. Also, I think for songs that didn't have a COR number originally, we should leave them off and just go by the RC#. What do you think? - Megasnorkel (admin) 19:56, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

o hai. i did the infoboxes for musicians tonight. tell me what you think. Megasnorkel (admin) 04:08, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

good news. turns out the problem wasn't as big as i thought it was. just an error on the musician infobox in the markup for current/former members. fixed it in about 5 minutes. everything is golden. (at least on my desktop. haven't checked on the laptop w/higher resolution yet.) Megasnorkel (admin) 07:41, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

the one track listing field on the album infoboxes wasn't working. i'll try again some other time. i think they're good for now. Megasnorkel (admin) 15:31, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

profile pic

i just made a profile picture aboutme box. i put one in your profile with a picture of buddy holly, you can change it if you'd like. - Soupandballoons (admin) 08:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

where you gettin' the rc numbers? and howcome you're deleting the cor numbers i put on the pages?

also, i'm not really adding info, just going through each page and making sure all the sidebar stuff and formatting is proper, as well adding all the song pages that aren't there for album tracks (i won't move onto rarities just yet)

I've been getting them from here: Also, don't worry about info. That'll all come later. I'm curious as to where you've gotten those COR numbers? Are they the revised ones? I probably should have mentioned that right now we're not going to include the revised COR numbers. Sorry. I'm really impressed with how much you've done in just a day though. It's awesome.

ya that's where i've been getting them but i didn't notice the rc column. is there anything for 2003 and up?

you can get a few of them in the Rec history for the majority of the album 5 demos and fallen soldiers, but we can't accurately name the red songs. Although, we might add an info column for that list of 4 and 5 starred demo

ok, i'm still working on revising all the main songs and making sure they're good to go, doubt that'll be done today but it should be within the next couple. I added you on AIM...are you planning on making me an admin?

I'm sure there will be some kind of title, but in terms of an admin (sysop), we've already got three with an anonymous fourth editor so we don't need any sysops. Although we could use bots, which is the equivalent of a mod, which would give you policing privileged and access to some locked pages. I'll have to discuss it with the others since I don't have any sort of final say, but I'd say you'll be on the bot team.

That sounds good man. I'm almost done creating all the pages with full sidebars, you guys can start throwing info in the ones I've done (Blue-Make Believe plus everything in between) and I'll finish the rest of the tedious work. Sections left to create: Alone, Red + b-sides and bonus tracks, Alone II, SS2K, A5 Demos. Then I will start helping with info as well

I'm seriously really impressed and grateful at how much you've done. it's incredible.

what's left

I'm gonna try to get pages up for the a5 demos, ss2k and maladroit demos before launch. September 24th right?

After that stuff it's just the odd demo or unreleased song that we have a bit of info about or w/e, like comin home and souveniers

There's still the rentals band page that isn't working as well, and their album 7 more minutes

past all that its just info left to throw into the pages

Btw, I have about 800 contributions in the past 3 days, about as much as you :P

This is Jason from A6. thought i needed a cooler sn, so i made this one.

This shit is so fucking awesome! I just made a page for all the 2005 AOL Session songs. I love my life.

I uploaded more than one picture trying to make that aboutme box. feel free to delete Aboutme - Karl's Corner.jpg and Aboutme - KarlsCorner.jpg. those didn't work for the thingy.

No problem. I'm just glad I could do something. Oh, and this fucking rocks =D.

How come we don't make any references in our articles like in Wikipedia? Not that we aren't totally awesome now, but I think it'd make us seem a lot more legitimate if we had them. MyNameIsJason 04:39, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

i think you should talk about using the name Rivers possessively in the names section. Do I say Rivers' or Rivers's??!?!?!help me! MyNameIsJason 02:51, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I've been messing around with the dates a lot lately, and i noticed that you can't easily navigate between years. Wikipedia has a type of chart for this (see the top right corner). i think it'd be cool if we stuck something like that on all the date pages.

joke articles

hey. I think our joke articles are awesome, and I contribute heavily to all the bullshit that piles up there, but I think we need to separate them somehow. i think a little template thing at the top of the page, similar to the {{expand}} thing would work well. but instead it would be {{Joke_article}} and it could say "This page was created as a joke, and not for informative purposes. It is meant to be entertaining, not accurate." or something like that. Just to make us seem more professional. I was trying before to make it seem a little more professional by editing all the pages, but that was taking away a lot of what made the pages so funny. If we had a little template, we could be as ridiculous in the article as we liked and we wouldn't be putting it on a level playing field with serious articles. party on garth. and happy halloween.--MyNameIsJason 08:40, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

no worries. i made a category of joke pages, [[Category:Joke pages]], and added a couple pages. if you guys want to get rid of it, feel free.--MyNameIsJason 07:39, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

Time Song

Thanks for fixing the "Time Song Page" for me. I tried for like an hour to get it right but I have no idea how to do wiki. When I came back to give it another go today, it looked great! Thanks for doin that. --Lifetaker 22:59, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

scott page

there's been a decent amount of vandalism on the Scott page lately. I think locking it for a little while would be a good idea.

--MyNameIsJason 22:46, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

What happened to the uncle sam page? That was pretty funny, even though all the bad things he did. The pony eyelashes page is great though. Don't you think you should add a page for some other legendary boardies? I'd like to see more boardie pages. Anna batista, son of a rude. I'm sure it would be easy to make one for them, there's a lot of easy stuff to find on them on forums.

Image to delete

Hey Martin! Just wanted to let you know I upped a duplicate image cos the old filename wasn't too good. Anyway, the old one that needs deleting is here: --Nikki4982 09:09, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

i saw you put Softies as the first single for Album Seven. is there any real evidence for that? This kinda makes WP look like some dumb Weezer fansite if speculation is put up there as fact, imo. Maybe a little thing explaining the speculation and not confirming it as fact would be better.
love you always and forever. --MyNameIsJason 05:45, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

No, it doesn't make us look like a "dumb Weezer fansite" because speculation wasn't put up as fact. Quote:On March 8, 2009, a Wikipedia entry for "Softies" was created. The page stated that "Softies" has been chosen as the lead off single. This has yet to be confirmed." Read the last sentence again. We did explain it is speculation. Kthnxbai. --ohjonas (admin) 15:38, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Templates and my various ideas for improvement of the site

It would be nice if we could have have more templates of various uses. For example, I feel a year template would help link all the years pages together nicely (see wikipedia for example). Another idea for a template would be similar to the one used on wikipedia for weezer. ( I feel overall, we need to put a hugh emphasis on categories. I am proposing making a template (similar to our current expand template) that would point out that the article is uncategorized. Overall, I would like to be able to just have our template be the same as wikipedia's that way we can copy and paste various elements from wikipedia. I feel our articles would be improved if we could add citations into the pages. My main goal here is to improve the Event pages. I hope my advice has been useful. Thanks Blinkoboy13 18:01, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

On this day new code

To: Waylon <Megasnorkel>
Cc: Martin <Ohjonas>

I've changed the 'On this day...' section on the Main Page so it's a little easier to manage. Before we were using the system that I set up with Selected Anniversaries which meant we had a date page, like April 15, and we also had to have a page called Weezerpedia:Selected_anniversaries/April_15. This meant two pages for each date had to be maintained. Anyway, we no longer need Selected Anniversaries, what is on the date page itself will show up under the 'On this day' section. If you want you can mass delete all the pages that start with "Weezerpedia:Selected_anniversaries/" because they are no longer necessary.

Also you might read the top part of this page - to see how different types of Transclusions work aside from regular Templates and Namespaces. When you include a template in a page you use {{Template:TemplateName}} or simply {{TemplateName}}, you know that. What I had overlooked, and why we used the Selected Anniversaries, was how to include a normal page, without a specific namespace, inside another page. That can be done with something like this {{:Pinkerton}} or {{:Geffen}}. Just use the colon in front of the page you want to Transclude within the brackets.

The only other thing to note is that because date pages have categories for their months, Ex. April 15 has the category Category:April. This will be transcluded into the On This Day section and puts the Main Page in the April category for the time being. So we might think about using <noinclude></noinclude> tags around the categories on date pages, but I'll think more about that.

I'm going to post this to Martin's page to so he knows how the 'On this day' section has changed.

not to be super annoying or anything, but...

it seems i've been demoted from my mod status.

plans for future

I'm not sure how often everyone has been editing here, but my productivity with =wp= has steadily decline of late. I plan on changing this! I'm promising myself that I am going to edit 1 page a day. Yesterday, I made Josh Freese, and today I beefed 367. Hopefully I can start contributing like the good ol' days, cuz =wp= is important to me. keep it on the up. - MNIJ.

wtf at all these "The Pain" pages

Am I being a stick in the mud if I think these pages shouldn't be on =wp=? I deleted Ben Hogan cuz it was clearly vandalism, but I kept the others cuz people actually put time into them. What is all this shit? I'm a fat noob and don't go on A6 really anymore and I suck for that, but I don't think these pages are appropriate really. --MyNameIsJason 19:06, 3 January 2010 (EST)

installing extensions

hey. I'm tinkering around with possibly making the entire Gallery page one big image map, and I'm having some trouble. Do we have an imagemap extension installed? What the hell is an extension? Do you know what I'm talking about at all? I'm sending this to all the mods to see what's going on. I have the code for the imagemap made (i used this to make it), but i don't know what to do from there. if it's any help, the code is saved in the Sandbox. the extension can be found here. thanks.
