Featured song: "Weekend Woman" Play on spotify.png

"Weekend Woman" is the fifth track from Pacific Daydream and the fourth track released prior to the album's release. The song is a reworking of the Green Album-era Rivers Cuomo demo "Burning Sun".

Rivers Cuomo told NPR in October 2017 that the song's lyrics are an assemblage of lines from different sources, connected in a way that suggests a story about a single relationship. He also stated that he was trying to not use the word "girl" as much in his songs, alluding to a previous title for the song when it was demoed in 2014: "Weekend Girl." Fans have speculated that Ric Ocasek motivated Cuomo to revisit the song in 2014. The bridge of the version that appears on Pacific Daydream was sourced from "Beautiful Lies," a Cuomo demo from 2016.
