We're doing an interview with Tom Grimley! That's a picture of him at right with Petra Haden. Tom ran W.I.N. Records and Poop Alley Studios, and he was pretty much Matt's chief collaborator at the very beginning of the Rentals. The Rentals likely wouldn't have been anything close to what they were - or maybe even have existed at all - if it weren't for Grimley. His vibe is a lot more experimental and abstract than ROTR. He's produced for That Dog and was an important member of the alt rock/underground/experimental music scenes in LA in the 90s. Here are some links:
