Featured article: The 4 and 5 Star Demos of Rivers Cuomo

The 4 and 5 Star Demos of Rivers Cuomo is a spreadsheet created and maintained by Rivers Cuomo that lists the names of demos he deems of high quality. On July 24, 2008, it was posted on riverscuomo.com, with certain songs designated as songs that either appeared on Alone, Buddyhead's Gimme Skelter compilation, or the then unreleased Alone II. It released the previously unknown track list of Alone II. An updated version of the spreadsheet was again posted on riverscuomo.com temporarily on October 30, 2010 featuring tracks attributed to Alone III. Many of the tracks listed still remain unreleased such as The Bottle of Wine Song, although it was heard during Karl's DJ set on The Weezer Cruise.

Featured song: Play on spotify.png "Getting Up and Leaving"

Pinkerton Deluxe.png
"Getting Up and Leaving" is a once unreleased Weezer song written in 1993 by Rivers Cuomo and Patrick Wilson. It appeared on Pinkerton (Deluxe Edition) in 2010.

Weezer first recorded the song as a live demo during a Blue Album pre-production session with Ric Ocasek at S.I.R. Studios in New York on November 8, 1993. Later, in the summer of 1996, a studio version was recorded but never finished during the Pinkerton sessions at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, Los Angeles. Along with "I Swear It's True", the song was designated for release on a retail "Pink Triangle" CD single in 1997 which, unfortunately, was never released.

Rivers stands solemnly outside Henson Recording Studios while working on Maladroit.

On this particular day lots of work was done on both "Slob" and "Living Without You". In "Slob" Scott and Brian finished and fixed their backup vocals, and Pat laid down some sweet alternate drum bits to help round things out. Karl commented, "I'm not sure what was going on with "Living Without You", but I do know that both songs got finished and are on their way to Miami to be mixed now."
