Rivers Cuomo performed a solo concert at Harvelle's in Santa Monica, California on February 2, 2023. Cuomo announced the show's existence on Twitter[1][2] (though his tweets announcing it were indistinguishable from AI-generated tweets from the same time period) and on his personal Discord server.[3] The show was intended as a rehearsal for Weezer's forthcoming performance of "California Girls" at A Grammy Salute to The Beach Boys at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on February 8. Rather than performing acoustically, Cuomo played electric guitar over prerecorded instrumentation.
