...MB '05 Tour: Day 100(!): Foozer/Wee Fighters #7: San Diego, CA - Cox Arena

Back in US and A! Here we are, back on the Foozer/Wee Fighters tour at last. I can't really say everyone's refreshed after a nice break, as we havent been on a break (far from it!), but nonetheless, everyone is ready to rock and stoked to be back in the familiar 'arena tour' saddle. Today was also the first non-festival type SoCal show for weezer in a long while, and it was definitely the first Weezer show in San Diego in a very long time.

The Cox Arena was packed pretty much to the rafters with around 9000 fans, who roared like a lion at the appropriate times. The arena is a cool venue, as it really feels strangely intimate somehow - sort of a mini-arena. When its full as it is tonight, it kinda crackles with small yet huge energy, like a club show on massive steroids.

A very warm welcome to the most excellent Kaiser Chiefs who came in all organized and stuff and delivered the goods right off the bat. This tour rules.

Thanks to local ace Freddy 'Jimson Weed' McLaughlin who helped out on Undone tonight! Plus special shout outs to Atom, who is off tour from the Offspring for a while and came down to visit, and Ron H., holding it down in the SD.

Just when we thought we were free from interrupted and corrupted sleeping pattens, we were rudely awakened on the bus about 3 hours after drifting off, at the Arizona Border Patrol station on the I-8 about halfway to Phoenix. Everybody had to get up and get off the bus and wait in the warm desert wind at 3AM while officers and dogs searched everything. As always, we weren't carrying any funny stuff (nor illegal immigrants), so we were free to go and woefully attempt to re-enter the land of sleep for a few more hours till we hit Phoenix in the morning. Where is that day off?
