Boys at Play and Rock Candy are unofficial CDs released by the labels Troll Records and Home Records respectively in the year 1995.

History

Boys at Play and Rock Candy are very early Weezer bootleg CDs, being released around the same time as Geezer and American Holiday in 1995. Rock Candy was released early enough to be considered by the band as the third Weezer bootleg ever created, earning a spot on their Facebook page on December 4, 2013. Curiously, despite being identical releases, Boys at Play is not mentioned.

While the two CDs have different titles, covers, and labels, they were both released by the same group. "Home Records" and "Troll Records" are both sub-labels of Sizzling Music, an Italian music distributor known for producing live bootleg CDs under multiple pseudonyms for dozens of bands during 1994 and 1995. Further, the barcodes of the two releases are identical, the unique Weezer logo found on the artwork appears on both, and they both contain the same audio from the band's September 9, 1994 show.

Like other similar bootlegs, these CDs are now incredibly hard to find and are coveted by collectors interested in the band's early history.[citation needed]

Another bootleg of this show was released with the title Candy Rock (strikingly similar to Rock Candy) by the bootleg label Von Knows on June 24, 2006. It can be assumed that this CD is a bootleg itself of the original Rock Candy, considering the two shared tracklists, typos, and titles.
