The Weezer Recording Chronology (WRC) is an attempt by Weezerpedia to create a successor to the Recording History, a detailed list of every demo, bootleg, and studio recording by the band Weezer and any directly associated bands, written by Karl Koch from the years of 2000 to 2011. Pages are separated by years.

This page details the year 2003. It contains initial recording sessions of Make Believe, and events and recordings that led up to them.

January-July 2003

"I Suck", January 2003

Rivers home demos, February 2003

At some point in February 2003, Cuomo uploaded two covers to his MySpace page. These were of Badfinger's "Without You" (popularized by Harry Nilsson) and "Je Changerais d'Avis", a French adaptation of "Se Telefonando" by Ennio Morricone. After quickly circulating with fans online, they were taken down.

"Worry Rock", February 12, 2003

On February 12, 2003, Weezer (albeit without bassist Scott Shriner) reconvened to record a cover of "Worry Rock" at Rod Cervera's home studio in Los Angeles. It includes former That Dog member Petra Haden on violin, her sister Tanya on cello, and Rod Cervera on acoustic guitar. This recording was later included on A Different Shade of Green: A Tribute to Green Day in July 2003.[1]

S.I.R. Rehearsal Studios rehearsals, March-May 2003

A number of rehearsals would take place at S.I.R. Studios between March and May 2003, as Rivers Cuomo wanted to rehearse some of the new songs he had written. Early sessions would use different session players, as most of Weezer was unavaliable.

March 2003

At some point in March 2003, a rehearsal was held with Rivers, Scott, and two unknown fill-in players. A MP3 of "Hold Me" from this rehearsal was shared to fans by Rivers, though the recording is only partial. It's unknown if any other songs were rehearsed at this session, or when it took place, as
