weezer show #54: Club Lingerie, Hollywood,CA
lub Lingerie was located on Sunset Blvd, a good deal east of the Sunset Strip, more in the center of Hollywood. It was in the rock business for many years before being taken over and is now some sort of gentlemen's club or something. This was one of several Lingerie shows in the '92-'94.
This show was free and was aggressively promoted at an earlier show nearby at The Palace. Apparently it was thought that the crowd would want to come over for more rock after seeing whatever band was playing the Palace.
Other bands on the bill included Dead, White and Blue. Journal entry for this date reflects the mounting interest in weezer that would culminate in the band being signed to DGC (Geffen) in less than 6 weeks' time: " [Show was] spectacular. Good, long, SOLID set, great sound and better performance. 100 people came for weezer. [Labels] Slash, Interscope and Geffen all have made offers at this point, [but] only Geffen's is serious."
