serving as a teaser for pinkerton, the el scorcho single came out in the united kingdom a couple of weeks prior to the release of pinkerton. the single featured the new song "el scorcho", and two b-sides: "you gave your love to me softly"(remix), and "devotion" (a slower, yet rocking waltz-like tempoed song). cover art from the single comes from the societe de geographie collection in paris, france. spike jonze took the linear pictures.
