Overview
"Make Me a Pallet" was written in late 1991 or early 1992.[1] The Weezer Recording History lists the song as part of Cuomo and Patrick Wilson's informal "50 Song Project," wherein the two attempted to compose fifty new songs in order to form a new band (the band that would ultimately become Weezer), though the Recording History concedes that "Make Me a Pallet" was a "silly song" that "[didn't] really count as one of the '50'". The song appeared on a demo cassette tape by Cuomo titled Weezer (prior to the formation of the band of the same name). The song is an instrumental, featuring acoustic guitar, harmonica, and nonverbal vocalizations.
"Make Me a Pallet" was first heard by fans on November 11, 2020, when it was sold to a user on the then-newly-launched demo storefront on riverscuomo.com. Days later, the song was made widely available for purchase as part of the demo compilation Alone V: Before Weezer.
