"Running Man" (formerly "Spontaneous Clean Jamb") is a song demoed by Weezer in 2002 in early contention for the band's planned fifth album.

Appearances

Overview

Rivers Cuomo first demoed "Running Man" in 2002.[1] Following completion of Weezer's fourth album, Maladroit, the band immediately began work on a fifth album, recording new demos throughout the spring and summer of 2002. Two demos of "Running Man" were shared with fans on the band's official website. Ultimately, all of the demos from the aforementioned sessions were scrapped, and the band's fifth album would not see release until 2005.

Cuomo's original demos for "Running Man" were released in November of 2020 as part of the digital demo compilation Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years.

about this table

Lyrics

He runs so gracefully
And lives eternally
Hands high, head high

He steps into the air
Eyes focused in his stare
Moving, grooving

He takes control of the course of his life

He don't need coffee breaks
Subsists on egg and steaks
Moving, proving

Perfection is a feel
Turning as does a wheel
He's on, he's strong

He takes control of the course of his life

He's climbing
