Weezer performed at Sonic Recording Studios in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 20, 1997 for Philadelphia rock radio station WPLY's "Y-100 Sonic Sessions". The band was joined by Timothy "Speed" Levitch for the performance of "Undone - The Sweater Song", who read poetry during the conversational sections of the song.
The recording of "The Good Life" from this performance was later included on Y100 Sonic Sessions Vol. 1, a compilation album released by the radio station. "The Good Life", "Pink Triangle", and "El Scorcho" from this performance were later included on the deluxe edition of Pinkerton in 2010.
