Maria is one of the female leads in Rivers Cuomo's abandoned space opera Songs from the Black Hole. Cuomo wanted Joan Wasser of The Dambuilders to voice Maria, although Wasser herself was unaware of this until informed by a Weezer fan via MySpace.
