Oh, she left me here
She left me all alone
Oh, but I don't care
No, I don't mind at all
She said she loved me
She said she loved me
She said she'd turn my heart around
But up above me
But up above me
My lucky star ain't shining down
Oh, I'm all alone
I'm all alone, it's good
I don't need a friend
To show me Hollywood
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
Girl, I can take this
I'm gonna take this
I'm gonna have to let you know
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough today
Oh, I'm all alone
I'm all alone, it's good
I don't need a friend
To show me Hollywood
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
Girl, I can take this
I'm gonna take this
I'm gonna have to let you know
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough today
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
Girl, I can take this
I'm gonna take this
I'm gonna have to let you know
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
I have had enough today

"Don't Give It Up" (formerly "Don't Give Me Love"[1] or "Oh She Left Me There") is a demo by Rivers Cuomo. It is an early iteration of Weezer's 2016 song "Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori."
Appearances
Overview
Rivers Cuomo composed Catalog O' Riffs entry 405 in 2002, under the title "Don't Give Me Love."[1] This initial demo was released (under the title "Oh She Left Me There") in November of 2022 as part of the digital compilation Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years. Another recording from Alone VIII (labeled "405 pachelbel strum") suggests that the song's chord progression is based on Pachelbel's "Canon in D," though in a 2016 episode of the podcast Song Exploder, Cuomo cited the song "Walk Away Renee" by the Left Banke as the origin of the song's chord progression.[2]
Cuomo revisited "Don't Give Me Love" in 2014, possibly in an attempt to find something "more like Green" to appease Atlantic Records A&R manager Maureen Kenny.[3] This demo (now titled "Don't Give It Up") was released to fans in 2021 as part of the digital compilation Alone XIII: The Pacific Daydream Black Years. The demo was most likely added to the bundle by mistake, possibly as a result of the presence of a later demo with the same title. The original "Don't Give It Up" was eventually reworked into the track "Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori" from Weezer's eponymous White Album, released in 2016.

Oh, she left me there
She left me all alone
Oh, but I don't care
But I don't mind at all
She said she loved me
She said she loved me
She said she'd turn my heart around
But up above me
But up above me
But all around the angels frown
Oh, I'm all alone
I'm all alone for good
I can't have a friend
A real friend at all
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
Girl, I can take this
I'm gonna take this
When I'm around to let you know
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
I have had enough
Don't love the hate
Don't leave the hate
Hey, hey
Live it on and on
Oh, I'm all alone
I'm all alone for good
I don't need a friend
A superfriend, the gall
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
She said she loved me
And I can take this
I've got enough for me to know
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
I have had enough
Only the hate
Only the hate
Only the hate
On and on and on
Another heartbreak
Another heartbreak
Another chance for me to grow
Girl, I can take this
I'm gonna take this
I'm not around for you to know
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
Don't give me love
I have had enough
All through the hate
All through the hate
All through the hate
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
I am gonna break
