From Weezerpedia

weezer It gives us NO pleasure to announce that we have been struck down by the fickle Euro travel gods and CAN NOT get to Bilbao in time to play with @metallica tonight! Our dream is shattered and we are so sorry to everyone. Heres the deets… When the tour was originally arranged, the Metallica show was not a thing yet, so we were scheduled to lose the buses after Paris. When the Metallica show was added we found out that those buses had been immediately rebooked, and there were no other tour buses available in Europe for that one day. So our HEROIC crew drove all night from Paris (on a regular non-sleeper bus) to make it, and got everything set up in time. Meanwhile we had booked a rare private flight to avoid all the cancellations, delays, strikes, and chaos that is going on all over Europe right now. Sure thing, right? Right…? (Cue Padame/Anakin meme). This morning our tour manager talked to the pilots and confirmed all was well. We later arrive at the little airport to be told by the pilots that they discovered that the plane has a fuel leak, and the guy who repairs this model plane has to be flown in from Denmark, so it cant get fixed till tomorrow. We look into alternate planes. Were told there's one in Oslo that could get to us by 5:30, maybe. If it did, we could still make it. (There are also zero seats available on any commercial flights on any airline).
An hour later were told it cant arrive here till 6. Given that our show time was 8, that's really pushing it, but OK, were up for it. We would land at 7:30, get a police escort and race to the stage. Metallica even said we could start at 8:15 if needed, and just cut a few songs. Setlist trimmed, we wait more…. Another hour passes, now we hear the plane from Oslo cannot get the take off slot they needed. They cant get to Paris at all today. So there's no way to get to Bilbao, and the show cannot be delayed because of the curfew. We are hosed. WE ARE SORRY!!!!!!! And so bummed!!!!!!! We can only say, at least we found out the plane had a problem before we got on it. If that's the way it had to go, then safe is better than sorry, always. #karlscorner
