Overview

"Mo' Beats" is a song written by Rivers Cuomo and recorded by Weezer in 2002 during the sessions for the band's planned fifth album. A recording dated July 2 was released as a free MP3 on the band's official site. It was reported in 2002 that, at the Summer Sonic Festival, Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses met with Cuomo to discuss a possible collaboration on this song.[1]

"Mo' Beats" shares an entry in the Catalog O' Riffs with a song rehearsed months later, in November of 2002, titled "Keep It Safe".

Two of Cuomo's demos of the song appeared on the digital compilation Alone VIII: The Maladroit Years in 2020.

I got mo' beats than y'all
"Keep Fishin'" still seems small
Is that the best that all of you can do?
And to my challengers
Still think in little words
You're so upset
You're tripping on yourself

Wombat, with little teeth
You've been declawed with the padded feet
Trying to think of something sharp
To say to me to pierce my heart
But I'm all bad, I'm as tough as nails
Long ago I learned to fail
My students, when they play in the class
They try to make me fall upon my ass

I got mo' beats than y'all
"Keep Fishin'" still seems small
Is that the best that all of you can do?
And to my challengers
Still think in little words
You're so upset
You're tripping on yourself

Bait me, and you think I'll fall
For the words you've written upon the wall
But never before have I shown a weak side
And I'm not about to let the pain inside
Be displayed for all to see
And now I wonder why you're snapping at me
So tell me what did I do to you
Except break down and fucking rule?

I only have a hint
I only have a shred
I only feel a tiny pulse
Is anybody there?
Can anybody hear?
I'm calling out for anyone

Send me a message
Send me a notice
Send me a package
I'll pay the postage
Open up your heart
Open up to me
Open up the door
Please share your feelings

I only have myself
For thirty years or more
I never even had a friend
Someone to talk to me
And tell me funny things
And keep my thoughts from going black

Give me a chuckle
Give me a backhand
Give me a bearhug
Please don't let it end
I'm breaking apart
I'm going insane
I've fallen smack down
My face in the drain

Hey, you, lend a hand
I'm only just a man
Broken from the stress
Please help me, I'm a mess

I did some nasty things
And I will pay the price
No one is helping me at all
I am a lonely man
Hope someone notices
And they all want me to give more

It sounds familiar
It sounds appealing
It sounds attractive
The pain I'm feeling
So let me hear you
So let me see you
So let me touch you

Hey, you, lend a hand
I'm only just a man
Broke down from the stress
Please help me clean the mess

Hey, you, lend a hand
I'm only just a man
Broke down from the strain
Please help me go insane

It sounds familiar
It sounds appealing
It sounds attractive
The pain I'm feeling
So let me hear you
And let me see you
And let me touch you
I'll... hurt you

Hey, you, lend a hand
I'm only just a man
Broke down from the strain
Please help me go insane

Hey, you, lend a hand
I'm only just a man
Broke down from the stress
Please help me...

I got mo' beats than y'all
"Keep Fishin'" still seems small
Is that the best that all of you can do?
Now to my challengers
Still think with little words
You're so upset, you're pissing on yourself

Wombat, with little teeth
You've been declawed with the padded feet
Trying to think of something sharp
To say to me to pierce my heart

A mob is rising up
They want to scream and shout
And tear your body limb from limb real slow
You got to focus now
Reconcentrate the chi
And get them monkeys off your back for good

Bait me, and you think I'll fall
For the words you've written upon the wall
Never before have I shown a weak side
And I'm not about to let the pain outside

Bait me, and you think I'll fall
For the words you've written upon the wall
Never before have I shown a weak side
And I'm not about to let the pain outside

Wombat, with little teeth
You've been declawed with the padded feet
Trying to think of something sharp
To say to me to pierce my heart

Their mob is rising up
They want to scream and shout
And tear your body limb from limb real slow
You got to focus now
Reconcentrate the chi
And get them monkeys off your back for good
