Great news, I've narrowed down the startup bug to a small section of the chat app code. I've disabled that part of the code for now. so we won't have those hour-long startups anymore. Some of the usual chat functionality is disabled until I isolate and fix the bug.

I'm setting up an appointment with a pro next week to help me make the app more stable and help reduce the startup time. UPDATE: the pro demurred.
