Overview
Rivers Cuomo recorded a demo of "So Low" to an Olympus handheld digital recorder[1] in 2001. The song was first recorded by Weezer at Sage and Sound Studios in the summer of 2001. During these sessions, an MP3 of the song was intended to be released on weezer.com, but a corrupted, 2.58kb file was uploaded by mistake. "So Low" was performed live by the band several times throughout 2001, notably at that summer's KROQ Inland Invasion festival and as Goat Punishment at the Knitting Factory for the show HBO Reverb.
"So Low" was later reworked into "Mansion of Cardboard" during the band's early demo sessions for their planned fifth album.
