Weezerpedia:Karlification
Karlification (a portmanteau of "Karl" and "clarification") is a term coined by Weezer fans to describe fact-checking and recollections shared by band historian and archivist Karl Koch.
Koch, who has shared a close connection with the band since as early as 1991, maintains exhaustive archives of their history in his vault and digital collection. Additionally, having been present for each of the band's tours and album recording sessions, his memory holds a wealth of insider knowledge spanning multiple eras. Koch disseminates information to fans through Karl's Corner and projects such as the Recording History. He also maintains a steady online presence, allowing fans to directly ask questions or clarify information. Claims originating from or confirmed by Koch are considered to be "Karlified".
Karlification on Weezerpedia
Weezerpedia is a collaborative encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone; claims made by editors are substantiated by citing external primary and secondary sources. However, some articles contain edits done personally by Koch. As he is, himself, a primary source, claims made in these edits need not cite an external source.
To distinguish claims written by Koch from others, the template {{Cite Karlification}} is used in place of a standard reference. In the article body, this appears no different from a normal citation; however, in the article's references section, it simply reads "Karlification." Additionally, an article message box template, {{Karlification}}, is placed at the top of any article featuring Karlified information. If the scope of Koch's edits only cover a small section of a larger article, the {{Karlification Section}} template is used instead. Examples of these message boxes are below:

Citing Karlified claims not made on Weezerpedia
The Karlification templates apply only to when information is added to an article by the User:Karlophone account. Karlified information which originated on another platform or website — for example, discussion having taken place in the ongoing Weezerpedia Discord Q&A with Karl Koch — must be cited in the same style as any other claim.
