Overview
The song is a reworking of "She's Just a Girl", a 2015 demo by Rivers Cuomo. The song's verse melody has appeared in various demos recorded by Cuomo since 1998 (beginning with "There's a Bomb in the Air") and was later utilized for the Weezer song "Byzantine" from the band's self-titled Black Album in 2019.
