Sheeny Bang was Rivers Cuomo's personal assistant. Cuomo met her at a party after a solo concert he performed in Cambridge, Massachusetts on November 21, 1997. In September 2002, Bang was the webmaster of the first incarnation of riverscuomo.com in which she blogged about her interactions with Rivers Cuomo on a nearly daily basis. It is believed that Miss Sweeney was written about Bang.
