Star Ling Wick (born September 30, 1981, in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the band Ozma.
Biography
Star Wick joined Ozma in 1998, first appearing on the demo compilation Songs of Inaudible Trucks and Cars. On Ozma's 2001 album The Doubble Donkey Disc, Wick played flute on the songs "Flight of Yuri Gagarin" and "Continental Drift". On June 18, 2002, Wick was involved in a car collision which required her to receive eye surgery.[2] Musicians Derek Grant and Mary Guilliams filled in for Wick during her recovery. During Ozma's breakup, Wick started working at a Marc Jacobs store in Los Angeles.[3] On the 2007 album, Pasadena, Wick co-wrote the song "Heartache vs Heartbreak." During the Weezer Cruise in both 2012 and 2014, Wick held a "Yoga with Star" event block during the day.[4] In 2014, Wick sang lead vocals on the Ozma song "Nervous," written by Kenn Shane.
Wick was briefly engaged to Aaron Stuart of the band Piebald in 2005.[5][6][7]
The Indonesian band Starwick is named after Wick. The Hellogoodbye song, "I Saw It on Your Keyboard", was written about Wick and references Ozma in its lyrics.[8]
