"Love Is the Answer" (originally titled "Take It Easy") is the seventh track on Raditude.
Appearances
Overview
"Love Is the Answer" was written by Rivers Cuomo and is first known to have been demoed for potential inclusion on the album that would eventually become Make Believe. The song was included on Cuomo's "A-list" throughout the Spring and Summer of 2004, when it went by the title "Take It Easy", before being renamed "Love Is the Answer" around July. The song was being considered for inclusion on Make Believe until near the end of production, even appearing on the Amazon track listing mere months prior to release [1]. The song was completed at Grandmaster Recorders in Los Angeles as of October 2004, but ultimately went unused, making it one of the so-called "fallen soldiers" as dubbed by Karl Koch. This version remains unheard by fans except for a short clip played to fans by Koch during a Stickam chat.
A few years later, Cuomo offered several of his demos to the American rock band Sugar Ray for possible inclusion on their then-upcoming album. They chose and recorded "Love Is the Answer", which was released on their album Music for Cougars in 2009.
Two entirely new versions of the song, both produced by Jacknife Lee, were recorded during production of Weezer's 2009 album Raditude. The arrangement that appears on the album was later dubbed the "Hindi Version" and includes Hindi vocals by singer Amrita Sen and sitar playing by Nishat Khan. The first Hindi verse is loosely translated as "There will come a day when love will reign. Where there is love, life flourishes." An earlier version of the song, lacking the Hindi vocals and instrumentation and labeled the "Laid Back Mix", was released about a month after the release of Raditude as part of the Weezer Raditude Club: iTunes pass and was also among other early Jacknife Lee mixes of Raditude tracks leaked online in 2017. Individual track stems for the "Laid Back Mix" were released online for a fan remix contest on the website Indaba Music in early 2010.
Band Commentary
Rivers: That one was really cool 'cause we got Amrita Sen, who's an Indian woman, classical singer, to come down and she did this beautiful vocal in Hindi. And one of our friends was playing Sitar. It is a very new sound for Weezer.

Lyrics
There will come a day
When we transcend our pain
Until that day
Take it easy on yourself
Love is the answer
Makes no difference what you have heard
Love is the answer
You have got to trust in the word
वहाँ एक दिन आएगा जब प्रेम राज करेगी. जहां प्रेम, जीवन पनपी है.
(There will come a day when love will reign. Where there is love, life flourishes)
There will come a day
When we can finally rest
Until that day
Take it easy on yourself
Brothers and sisters
I know you try so hard sometimes
You're gonna find your happiness inside
