Several partial variations on the chorus for "Heart of Hearts" appear on Alone XII. One version under the "Heart of Hearts" title ("heart of hearts 3 @159.mp3"), however, shares a melody with the demo "Happy Anniversary". Another iteration ("hearts_7_king.mp3"), features as its verse melody the chorus melody eventually used in the Black Album track "Byzantine".
