weezer show #28: English Acid, Hollywood

English Acid was a weekly club within a club, at a location on Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood that [I beleive] has since been closed up]. Its reputation was a little seamier and weirder than the average club, with the decor on the 'burlesque' side. But there were many rocking shows there.

Also on the bill were Black Market Flowers and several unknown bands. The only note located about this show was that it was "Rad! Thunderous!"

Setlist: partially known from an undated bootleg tape, that has been attributed to this date, but could possibly be from any of the bands 5 shows in October '92.

partial set (second half)
jonas
paperface
The world has turned
Answer Man

there are no [known] photos from this show. 2 flyer variations: L: original art for the Karl version, R: a rather humorously uninspired Matt design.

Today in Weezer History: 10/21/1992 - 10/21/92 - weezer show #28: English Acid, Hollywood. English Acid was a weekly club within a club, at 7969 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood that has since changed names and focus several times, in 2013 it is called "Voyeur" and doesn't feature rock n' roll. As English Acid, its reputation was a little seamier and weirder than the average rock club, with the decor on the 'burlesque' side. Also on the bill this night were Black Market Flowers and several other bands. The only note located about this show in Karls journal was that it was "Rad! Thunderous!" Possible/likely setlist (partial), known from an undated bootleg tape, that has been attributed to this date, but could possibly be from any of the band's 5 shows in October '92. Partial set (second half): jonas, paperface, he world has turned, Answer Man. Top left: original flyer artwork by Karl. Top Right: printed flyer designed by Matt Sharp. Bottom: Club Voyeur, today.
