"Velouria" is the third track and first single from the Pixies album Bossanova. Weezer recorded a cover of the song in 1998.

Overview

"Velouria" was originally recorded by the alt-rock band The Pixies, who Rivers Cuomo has cited as an influence on Weezer's early sound. The band recorded a cover of the song in August of 1998, which was included on the 1999 compilation, Where Is My Mind? A Tribute To The Pixies. The track is, notably, the first officially-released Weezer recording to feature Mikey Welsh on bass.

The liner notes of the compilation misspell co-producer Rich Mouser's name as "Rich Moser".

Lyrics

Hold my head
We'll trampoline
Finally through the roof
And on to somewhere near
And far in time
Velouria
Her covering
Travelling career
She can really move
Oh velveteen

My Velouria, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria

Say to me
Where have you been?
Finally through the roof
And how does lemur skin
Reflect the sea?
Velouria
Where have you been?

My Velouria, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you

We'll wade in the shine of the ever
We'll wade in the shine of the ever
We'll wade in the tides of the summer
Every summer, Every

My Velouria, my Velouria

Forever green
I know she's here
In California
I can see the tears
Of Shastasheen

My Velouria, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria
Even I'll adore you, my Velouria
