Boomtown is the fifth studio album by American rock band Ozma, released on February 11, 2014.
Writing and recording
Boomtown was Ozma's first album in seven years following the 2007 album Pasadena, the longest gap between studio releases for the band. The album opens with the song "Around the World in 80 Seconds," the band's first instrumental since "Korobeiniki" from The Doubble Donkey Disc. "Nervous" is notable as the first Ozma song written by drummer Kenn Shane, and the first to feature lead vocals by keyboardist Star Wick. "Out the Window" is the second Ozma song to feature rhythm guitarist Jose Galvez on lead vocals (the other being The Doubble Donkey Disc's "Immigration Song"). The album was partially recorded at Loveless Motel, and according to Ryen Slegr was also partially recorded in his bedroom.
Fundraiser
The album was funded entirely via a campaign through the music platform PledgeMusic, raising over $20,000[1] [2] The band wrote and recorded a rap track for their fundraising video, which Jose Galvez uploaded to his YouTube channel. The video uses a demo of the song "You'd Think I'd Know," which was later included in the compilation Boomtown Demos.

Lyrics
Ozma's gonna make a brand new album and it's gonna be really really good
Ozma's gonna make a brand new album and it's gonna be really really good
My name's Jose I play guitar
I play keyboards my name is Star
My name is Dan I play the bass
My name is Ryen I'm all over the place
Kenn plays the drums
Kenn plays the drums
Kenn plays the drums
Kenn plays the drums
Ozma's gonna make a brand new album and it's gonna be really really good
Ozma's gonna make a brand new album and it's gonna be really really good
We wanna make an album but we don't got any money
You think it's a joke, but it really isn't funny
These days you gotta make it on your own
Got no label to call home
So give us some money we'll do the best we can
Spread rock music all across the land
Ozma's gonna make a brand new album and it's gonna be really really good
Ozma's gonna make a new CD and it's gonna blow your minds
