"Grunge Couple" is a 1994 single by that dog.
Overview
"Grunge Couple" was released as a non-LP single in 1994, prior to the US release of the self-titled debut album. The lead track surfaced later in the year on the compilation "DGC Rarities, Vol. 1," and its B-side, "I Invented A Head" appeared on the promo disc for "Old Timer", along with an extended live version of "Grunge Couple", the same year.
From the "Old Timer" promo CD single notes: This is what happens when you mix Spinal Tap with Sonic Youth in John Goldman's bedroom. Anna's lyrics are based on her and Rachel's favorite pastime: grunge couple spotting.
From the DGC Rarities, Vol. 1 liner notes: It was written in John Goldman's bedroom as a tribute to Spinal Tap and Sonic Youth. Recorded at Poop Alley Studios for political reasons. - Anna & Tony

Lyrics
I like you, I like you
You are cute, you are cute
With your flannel shirt
And your hiking boots
I like you, I like you
You are fine, no, you are fine
Grunge couple does still have
A real good time
Grunge couple
(Grunge couple)
Grunge couple
(Grunge couple)
Grunge couple
(Going out of my mind)
Grunge couple
Grunge couple
(Have a good time)
Grunge couple
Grunge couple
(I'm going out of my mind)
Grunge couple
We love each other
There's no catch
We have tattoos
Nose rings that match
We go to meetings
And play pool
We do whatever
Is really cool
