Nerf Herder is an American rock band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1994 by Parry Gripp, Charlie Dennis, and Steve Sherlock.
Connection to Weezer
In 1997, Nerf Herder toured with Weezer during the Pinkerton Tour. Three years later, they supported Weezer on several shows of the Summer 2000 Tour.
Justin Fisher, childhood friend of Rivers Cuomo who briefly toured with the Rentals, joined Nerf Herder in 1999. In 2002, he was replaced with current bassist Ben Pringle, who would later also tour with the Rentals, appearing on their 2006 release The Last Little Life EP.
In 2016, Nerf Herder released a song titled "We Opened for Weezer".
Frontman Parry Gripp has stated on numerous occasions that Weezer was influential to the formation of the band and their sound.[1][2]
