Cuomo Cuotes

These are comments or responses I’ve made in the chat that the neighborhood finds interesting, funny, noteworthy or newsworthy. Anyone is welcome to add quotes, but please take care to avoid paraphrasing or misquoting, even if it’s just one word. Also this isn’t intended as a vessel to log everything I say in the chat. Let’s just note the highlights.

“I’m here.”

“Yeah the paraphrasing drives me nuts. Even if they change one word.”

"Sometimes I get fascinated by things I don't like. And then start using them. And then I almost kind of like them. It happens with music all the time period".

"The first days of chatting here are pretty frustrating. Or so I've heard. It's a rite of passage."

"I haven't cut my hair since this all started. I'm giving Brian a run for his money."

"I think I meant that the lyrics just came off the top of my head or the bottom of my head, I don't know. I didn't set off to say anything in particular. It's crazy that sometimes songs can end up having a specific meaning that way." [In reference 'My Brain is Working Overtime']

"The stereotype of a record label is about as accurate as the stereotype of a rock star, which is to say not at all."

"Rivers delivers. That's what Michael Enzinger said."

"marriage is good."

"I am a 'white belt' at sleeping."

"One trick I like for writing melodies is to try and write a bad melody. I guess that could be applied to any creative pursuit".

"I am a perfect fig mint"

"Pigs were my favorite animal when I was a kid."

"I thought you guys were just being all internetty"

"Thank you guys. You're all very excellent people."

"We were doing a meet and greet when the album came out. A couple came up to us and said their son had been a huge Weezer fan. He committed s**cide. When they heard the new album was called 'Everything Will Be Alright in the End', it was a great consolation to them. I knew then that we had made the right move in changing the title. It was a real lesson for me. Choose positivity when you can. And you always can."

"I wonder what would happen if I deep faked myself. I would never have to be in any videos or photo shoots again."

"bet you there are more "dan's" in the weezer fandom per capita, than any other fandom."

"playing my piano sounds like an euphemism."

“I never understood why guys swim topless. It’s so icky to put sunscreen all over your torso.”

“this song in fall called francesca is so amazing"

“doing research for Tastes Like Pain: [provides Wikipedia link for “brown rat torture”]. did not know about that one.”

"The reason I stopped moving around [as much onstage during shows] was because I started playing guitar again. Therefore I couldn't carry the microphone."

“In I need some of that? Oh, I know what [the conversation after the song] is. They had to chop off the end of the song. But they left that bit. That's from 2014. I think we couldn't get clearance for Ric's verse. We had him singing a whole verse. Well just his verse is from 2014.”

“I guess I’m just bigger than you’d expect.”

I Need Some of That

Song on the new Van Weezer album. Reworked from the Scott & Rivers song When the Wind Blows, 風吹けば。one of my many song titles that originated as a tweet.

We had Ric Ocasek singing a whole verse (his verse is from 2014), but I think we couldn’t get clearance for it so we had to chop off the end of the song. But they left a 30 second bit after the song ends. It’s a conversation between Karl Koch, Ric and I from the recording sessions for the Blue Album.

MRN 2.0

If you want your 1.0 / 2.0 accounts connected you'll need to use the same email in both places. Benefits will be access to demo purchases, shrine history, role powers, etc.

I wasn't able to migrate your passwords. All your other 1.0 data is now on 2.0, associated with the same email, but you'll each have to reset your password. Password resetting only works on the webapp for now. See web app section below for detailed instructions.

Android App

OPEN TESTING: for anyone with Android.
v39: You should have access to your purchase demo bundles now.

INTERNAL TESTING: limited to those on the email list.
v40: playlist filters are now working though you can't yet set or update your ratings.

This is my focus for now. The Android test app was available to the first 100 members of MRN 2.0 who provided a valid email address. All 100 slots are now filled. As we move through the various testing phases, we'll be able to add more users who have registered for a 2.0 account using a gmail account.

Instructions for Android Test Users:

Please share your crash data with me if you can by emailing lisa@riverscuomo.com.

Ensure you are using the latest version of the App by confirming the icon appears on your device as me on the Blue Album cover and is named Rivers Cuomo.

To update to the latest version of the app, you will need to uninstall the current app and install the latest version. If you cannot see the app in your Play Store library, access the app again here. You will only have access to this beta app if you log in to the Play Store using the same gmail address of your original MRN 2.0 account.

MRN 2.0 Web App

Available to everyone here.

This actually updates more frequently than the android app now.

If the page appears as a blank grey box, edit the URL address to remove anything after the .app/ and press Enter to reload the page.

To reset your password follow the link to the web app. If you’re logged in, log out, then return to the login page. Enter the email you used to register your account here, then hit ‘reset password.’ An email will be sent to you with a link to change your password. Once you’ve updated your password, return to the login page and enter your new credentials.

iOS App

The App is available only on the Android platform at this time. Unfortunately, you can't deploy an app to Apple's App store from a Windows computer. When the android app is more or less done, I'll switch to Kyoko's mac and try to figure out how to deploy from there.

RiverTube

RiverTube is not yet accessible to web app or iOS users. A temporary workaround may be available here, but I can’t guarantee its availability or functionality.

Mr. Rivers' Neighborhood

// Disables all audio processing let disableAP = true;

// Disables Acoustic Echo Cancellation let disableAEC = true;

// Disables Noise Suppression let disableNS = true;

// Disables Automatic Gain Control let disableAGC = true;

// Disables Highpass Filter let disableHPF = true;

//Stereo audio let stereo = true;

In URL form, these options can be appended to the room name in the form of "config.optionname=true". A readymade URL would end in: RoomName#config.disableAP=true&config.disableAEC=true&config.disableNS=true&config.disableAGC=true&config.disableHPF=true&config.stereo=true

Once I’ve indicated that new users have been added, you’ll access the riverTube Android test app and log in using the same email address you used to register for your MRN 2.0 account.

Note, it’s easier to access and download the test app from Google Play if you register for MRN 2.0 with your gmail account. The trials are available only to Android at this time. See below about iOS app development.

riverTube Android test app is available to the first 100 members of 2.0 who provided a valid email address. As we moving through the various testing phases, we'll be able to add more users.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to deploy the app to Apple's App store from my Windows computer. I'll have to figure out how to deploy it from a Mac.

Here is the first URL for the site for the development of MRN 2.0 . This will hopefully turn into an android/ios/web app.

There is now a rudimentary chat app there. A few points of caution: 2.0 is not yet connected to your 1.0 account. your email address will be visible to everyone. There is a 99% chance that your 2.0 account will not persist for long. Any messages or other work you create there will be lost.

Thanks to all the HTML/CSS heroes who are helping with everyone's account pages. The pages are beautiful and interesting.

Right now I mostly need help with rating the demos, which can be done in the player or the playlist on the chat page.

There are some common features I don't plan to implement, such as likes, followers, visit counters, private messages, and friends.
