Today in Weezer History: 11/01/2005 - Weezer shoots their first AOL Sessions. This took place at the tail end of the Make Believe Tour, with only a Japan leg still to go before wrapping it up for '05. This was shot in the iconic Capitol Records building, in Hollywood, which has a set of vintage, well respected recording studios in it, known for many Frank Sinatra sessions amongst many others. These sessions took place in Studio A. Five songs plus an interview were recorded and filmed, later debuted on 11/18 on the AOL Sessions site, with 3 performances later put on a Best Buy exclusive promo DVD, "AOL Sessions Best Buy Exclusive DVD". Guitar tech Bobby Schneck was helping out on guitar with some songs during the tour, so he was included in these sessions as well.

Songs performed, with notes:

  1. Beverly Hills (extended solo)
  2. Buddy Holly (long intro) (on DVD)
  3. Don't Let Go (add'l synth parts) (on DVD)
  4. Island in the Sun (all acoustic, Rivers only)
  5. Perfect Situation (on DVD).
