Overview
"I Invented a Head" was released as a B-side to That Dog's single "Grunge Couple" in 1994, and also released as a B-side to "Old Timer" that same year. It was written by Anna Waronker (music) and Rachel Haden (lyrics).
From the liner notes of the "Old Timer" promo: Anna wrote this song while crammed in the front seat of her car with her guitar. "I was waiting for Uri in the parking lot of Delores' after practice one day. I had asked Rachel for some lyrics. She handed me a piece of paper folded a hundred times and said, 'Don't read this until you get home.'"
Lyrics
I invented a head that sings
Sound and sleep
And how it gleans
Staring holes in myself
And in the eyes you made me realize
Inside is where I hide
Free and in-between
Inside is where I hide
Closed and open
I invented a head that sings
Sound and sleep
And how it gleans
Staring holes in myself
And in the eyes you made me realize
