"Paranoid Android" is the second track and lead single from the 1997 album OK Computer by Radiohead. Weezer covered the song in 2011.

Overview

Rivers Cuomo first hinted that he was learning "Paranoid Android" in a tweet from April 18, 2011 in which he simply said "Time to learn Radiohead's "Paranoid Android."". Weezer's cover of the song was released as a video on YouTube on May 27. The song was performed live for the first time on the same day at a concert in Atlantic City, NJ. Weezer continued to play the song live at numerous concerts throughout the year, with it's most recent performance being on the Lido Deck during The Weezer Cruise on January 19, 2012. Cuomo first heard the song in 1997 while on tour with No Doubt. According to Cuomo, “And then one day on the tour bus, the guys are like, ‘Check it out. It's the new Radiohead single…’ They turned on MTV and it was ‘Paranoid Android.’ It completely obliterated me." [1] The song is referenced directly in the lyrics of "Summer Elaine and Drunk Dori".

Lyrics

Please, could you stop the noise
I'm trying to get some rest
From all the unborn chicken voices
In my head

What's that?
What's that?

When I am king
You will be first against the wall
With your opinion
Which is of no consequence at all

What's that?
What's that?

Ambition makes you look pretty ugly
Kicking, squealing, Gucci little piggy
You don't remember
You don't remember
Why don't you remember my name?
Off with his head, man
Off with his head, man
Why don't you remember my name?
I guess he does

Rain down, rain down
Come on, rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height, height
Rain down, rain down
Come on, rain down on me
From a great height
From a great height, height
That's it, sir, you're leaving (Rain down)
The crackle of pigskin (Rain down)
The dust and the screaming (Come on, rain down)
The yuppies networking (On me)
The panic, the vomit (From a great height)
The panic, the vomit (From a great height)
God loves his children
God loves his children, yeah
