Rob Cavallo is a well-known record producer. He is currently a chairman of Warner Bros Records.

Overview

Rob Cavallo was born in Washington, DC. His father, Bob Cavallo (currently Chairman of Buena Vista Music Group), worked in the music industry as a band manager with groups such as Prince and Little Feat. When the younger Rob was about ten, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. As a teen he played in local bands, and after graduating from high school he began working as a recording engineer. In the mid-to-late 1980s Cavallo worked with many so-called "hair metal" bands around Hollywood as a record producer. He has produced many pop rock bands as well. This continued into the 1990s; however, when the hair metal scene died out he began seeking out alternative bands to work with. Cavallo currently lives in Hidden Hills, CA with his wife Kim and two sons Charlie and Joey.

Collaborations

Cavallo has worked with a vast array of acts, including Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Jawbreaker, the Goo Goo Dolls, Alanis Morrisette, Jewel, Paramore, Avril Lavigne, as well as supervised the assemblage of quite a few film soundtracks. He also produced several tracks on that dog.'s second album, 1995's Totally Crushed Out!.

Rob Cavallo produced the original version of the non-album track "You Gave Your Love to Me Softly", as it appeared on the soundtrack for the 1995 film Angus.
