Overview
"Time Flies" was written by Rivers Cuomo and Mac Davis in 2010, and Cuomo described it as "classic Sixties pop song with huge crunchy guitars."[1] Davis started working on the song while waiting for Cuomo to arrive at his home. By the time he arrived, Davis was mostly finished with the song, only requiring a final verse. Cuomo co-wrote the final verse and, despite writing credits usually being split 50/50, stated he didn't want half of the writing credit as Davis had written most of it.[2]
Davis and Cuomo also wrote "Incredible Body", likely in 2012.
