Overview

"So Down" was originally recorded at Ryen Slegr's house in the summer of 1995. In 2000, Jose Galvez described "So Down" as the "second and shortest Ozma song ever written," noting the influence of bands such as Lush, the Smiths/Morrissey, and Suede.[1] Though Galvez defended the use of the lyric "English-speaking immigrants just get in my way" in 2000, the lyric was changed when the song was rereleased in 2021. Daniel Brummel declined to comment on this change.[2]

Lyrics

Old Lyrics

Walked around the block about a thousand times
Busting out my raps and all my funky G rhymes
English-speaking immigrants just get in my way
Hey, Mr. Rogers, what do you say?

Oh, nothing can stop me now
I'm feeling so down

Looking out the window, don't know what I see
Everything looks different now, but maybe it's me
I see a bunch of faces that just tear me apart
It's kind of like the feeling when I shop at Kmart

Oh, nothing can stop me now
I'm feeling so down
Oh, nothing can stop me now
I'm feeling so down

Looking out the window, don't know what I see
Everything looks different now, but maybe it's me
I see a bunch of faces that just tear me apart
It's kind of like the feeling when I shop at Kmart

Oh, nothing can stop me now
I'm feeling so down
Oh, nothing can stop me now
I'm feeling so down

Ocho y Cuatro lyrics
