"The Last Days of Summer" is a fan club-exclusive single by Weezer.
Overview
The song was recorded during the sessions for Weezer's self-titled 2016 album (The White Album). The lyric "Defeated by our own technology" appears to have originated as early as 2010.[1]
"The Last Days of Summer" is the second Weezer fan club-exclusive 7" vinyl single, following the 2015 release "Everybody Needs Salvation." The b-side is "Prom Night," released previously on the Japanese release of the White Album. The single is its only vinyl release.
The intro vocals are based on the intro vocals of the demo "There's Good News and Bad News", albeit sung slower.
Packaging
Long-time Weezer photographer Sean Murphy is erroneously credited as "Shawn Murphy" on the single’s sleeve.
