Featured article: Ecce Homo

Ecce Homo (Latin: "Behold the man") was the title for Rivers Cuomo's original draft of the album concept that eventually became Weezer's ninth studio album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

Cuomo began developing the concept in 2011, deriving the title from the book of the same name by Friedrich Nietzsche. The album concept centered around the character Sebastian who, for deliberately ambiguous reasons, appears to exist throughout various eras of history and, over the course of the narrative, realizes the necessity of faith in a higher power. Some of these ideas carried over into the narrative of Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

A selection of demos considered for the album, alongside a Word document providing extensive info about the concept, were included as part of the digital compilation Alone XI: The EWBAITE Years in 2020.

Several of the tracks from this draft would eventually appear on Everything Will Be Alright in the End.
